The Daiquiri is a classic in its kind. But while this rum cocktail nowadays is a stylish and elegant choice, it used to be a drink for sturdy sailors. Dutch sailors made the precursor of this Caribbean cocktail from their ration, which consisted of rum, water, lime and sugar, when sailing ‘out West’.
Method: shake with ice, strain into a prechilled cocktail glass
Garnish: slice of lime
Glass: cocktail (Martini) glass
Ingredients
60 ml blanco Rum
30 ml Lime juice
15 ml sugar syrup
