The Rob Roy is a cocktail that mainly consists of whisky and vermouth, created in 1894 by a barman at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan, New York City.
Instructions
Robert Roy MacGregor, better known as Rob Roy, was a Scottish folk hero and freebooter from the 18th century. He is also called the Scottish Robin Hood. The drink was named in honor of Rob Roy, an operetta by composer Reginal de Koven and librettist Harry B.
Method: stir with ice in a prechilled cocktail glass
Garnish: orange zest
Glass: cocktail (Martini) glass
Ingredients
45 ml Bourbon
25 ml sweet vermouth
3 dashes of Angostura bitters
