This ruby-red Italian charmer pops up everywhere these days, after having made a comeback in 2015.

Instructions

Although the Negroni may look sweet, it’s anything but – its strong, bitter tones that Negroni afficionados love so much dominate the cocktail; no syrup here masking anything. The latest version of how the cocktail was invented is that it originated in Caffe Casoni in Florence, Italy in 1919. Legend has it that Count Camillo Negroni asked his friend, barman Forsco Scarselli, to strengthen his favorite cocktail – the Americano – by replacing the soda water with gin.

Drink it before a good meal, not only because it is the very definition of an Aperitivo cocktail, but because the gin, vermouth and bitters create a combination that would have floored even Henry VIII.

Method: stir with ice and strain into a short drink glass over ice cubes
Garnish: orange zest
Glass: short drink

Ingredients

30 ml gin

30 ml campari

30 ml sweet vermouth.

A complete workshop at your company or home. Our bartender comes to you to give the Cocktail workshop. Together, we decide what is needed. Glasses, shakers, spirits and of course, ice. Four cocktails are selected in advance and the bartender will bring all the ingredients. The workshop lasts about 1.5 hour and 2 cocktails are prepared. One by the bartender and one by you … You can shake it!
